Wayland the Smith was Norse mythology’s master blacksmith, who, because of his unique skills, was much in demand by gods and mortals alike. As a result, his life was in many respects tragic, varying between great happiness and imprisonment by masters seeking his wares. He also forged a number of magical rings, and is often regarded as JRR Tolkien’s source of inspiration for the Lord of the Rings. A2 size, photo quality.
